Motor Learning and Memory: Contributions of Underlying Mechanisms and their Interactions.

Supervisor: Dr. Neeraj Kumar, IIT Hyderabad.

Period: 2022 - present (Ongoing, PhD Thesis)

Summary: The overarching goal of this study is to understand the contribution and interaction between different learning mechanisms which are in play in different time scales, using different neural structures and using different kinds of sensory information. This will enhance our understanding of motor learning and underlying mechanisms which will result in more informed theoretical and computational models of learning.

Unconscious Passive Exposure to the Distractor Features Influence Suppression.

Supervisor: Prof. Ramesh Kumar Mishra, University of Hyderabad.

Period: 2021/01 – 2021/07 (Completed, Masters Thesis)

Summary: Rapid perception of the world requires efficient allocation to task-contingent objects and suppression of all irrelevant distractors. This distractor suppression has been investigated through a wide plethora of active processes such as reward association and cueing. This study attempted to find out whether habituation of distractors could occur through passive exposure in a visual search task.
